Healthy Meals for Growing Minds
As part of the LANA holistic approach, we believe that nutritious food is one of the most important foundations for a child’s well-being. It’s not just fuel; it’s information for a growing mind and body.
Our menu follows the requirements of the National Institute for Health Development, the Health Board, the Agriculture and Food Board, and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Meals are planned to give children the energy, focus, and strength they need to learn, play, and grow.
Our Menu Principles
- Cooked on site: All meals are prepared fresh in our local kitchen — we do not use outside catering.
- Balanced variety: Our four-week rotating menu includes 2–3 soup days (with dessert) and 2–3 main course days, with at least one meat-free day.
- Fruits & vegetables daily: Served with every meal.
- Fish once a week: To support healthy development.
- Vegetarian options: While we do not offer a fully vegetarian menu, we always find alternatives — replacing meat dishes, using plant-based milk, and adjusting for dietary needs.
- Allergen friendly: We are flexible and work closely with families to accommodate allergies.
- Whole-grain focus: We use 100% rye or whole-grain bread and serve pasta meals no more than once a week.
- Low sugar & salt: Only natural spices and flavors are used. Teas, juices, and desserts are prepared with minimal sugar, using seasonal fruit and whole milk products.
- No sweetened drinks: We never serve sweet juices or drinks with refined sugar.

A Word from Our Cook
“Kids deserve food that not only tastes great but also gives them the energy, focus, and strength they need to grow. I have a special mission: to sneak as much goodness as possible into every meal. Beans, spinach, chickpeas… they are my secret undercover agents. They slip into sauces, blend into smoothies, or hide in pancakes and stews — and before anyone knows it, the plate is empty and the veggies have done their job.”
