Always Learning: How We Shape the Future of Education
At LANA, we believe that a great school must always be a student itself. We are not just followers of best practices; we are actively involved in creating them. Through our participation in pioneering Erasmus+ international projects, we are constantly researching, innovating, and bringing the most advanced pedagogical ideas into our classrooms.
Our Commitment to International Innovation
Being a leader in early childhood education means more than just providing excellent daily care. It means constantly looking ahead, asking difficult questions, and collaborating with the brightest minds across Europe to find the best answers.
That is why we are proud to be active participants in several Erasmus+ projects. These prestigious, EU-funded initiatives allow our team to partner with universities and leading schools in countries like Germany, Croatia, and Slovenia. Together, we conduct research and develop new, innovative teaching methods that directly benefit the children in our kindergartens.
This isn’t just professional development; it’s our commitment to being at the forefront of pedagogical science.
Featured Project: Eduskills+Media — Nurturing Mindful Media Creators
The Challenge: We live in a digital world. Studies show that a majority of young children use smartphones daily, often passively consuming content. How do we ensure they become critical thinkers and creative producers, not just passive viewers?
Our Approach: In our Erasmus+ project, Eduskills+Media, we explored this very question. In collaboration with international partners, we moved beyond the simple fear of “screen time” and investigated how to teach media literacy in a positive and empowering way.
The Discovery: We found that photography is a magical gateway. Over two years, we developed and tested over 70 photographic activities with more than 180 children. We discovered that when children are given a camera, something amazing happens:
- They learn to look at the world with intention and curiosity.
- They shift from being passive consumers to active, creative storytellers.
- They develop critical thinking skills, asking questions about what makes a picture interesting or truthful.
The Impact in Our Classrooms:
What we learn in these projects doesn’t stay in research papers. It comes directly into our classrooms. The insights from Eduskills+Media are now part of the LANA Approach, ensuring your child learns to use technology creatively, critically, and consciously. We are not just teaching children
Our Role as Educational Leaders
Our work in Erasmus+ projects allows us to not only improve our own kindergartens but also to contribute to the wider educational landscape. We share our findings with other educators and even inform policymakers about the real-world needs of modern classrooms. This commitment to leadership and innovation is our promise to you that your child will always receive an education that is not just current, but truly future-forward.
